Summer Camp 2019

Is your child wild about wildlife?  Do they love learning about navigating the world around them?  Do you constantly find them wanting to explore the world of design and building?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, then there’s good news:  Swaner’s camps are for you!

Eventbrite - Summer Camp 2019

If the camp want is full, please add your name to the waitlist.

Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter’s educational summer camp programs will inspire and fascinate your child through week-long exploration and discovery about the natural world through STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math). Swaner offers summer camp programs for RISING kindergarten through 8th grade students.  Campers should be enrolled based on what grade they will enter in Fall 2019.

Swaner strives to keep summer camp opportunities available to anyone who is interested in participating, and works hard to keep prices affordable and provide camp tuition waivers to youth with financial need. See below for tuition waiver information.

In addition to providing camps for K-8th, Swaner also provides leadership development opportunities for teens in 9th through 12th grades through the summer camp program. Swaner is looking for enthusiastic, motivated, fun teens to help with camp activities. For more information on how to become a teen camp counselor, click here.

  • Each camp is designed for the grade level specified. Youth should be enrolled in a camp for the grade they will enter in Fall 2019.
  • Children are not allowed to move up in grade level. Children may move down in grade level (e.g. a child entering 3rd grade could attend a camp for 1st and 2nd graders), although we highly discourage this, as camps are created to be developmentally-appropriate for the specified age group.
  • Youth may be enrolled in AM and PM sessions for a full day camp experience. If you sign your child up for both the AM and PM session during a week of camp, there will be a supervised lunch hour provided. Please send your child with a sack lunch that does not require heating and contains no nuts or nut products. There are no full day options for Kindergarten camps.
  • At least one-week prior the camp, you will receive an email with a parent letter, detailed agenda for the camp, camper waiver, a packing list, and directions to Swaner in order to best prepare your child and yourself for an excellent week of camp!
  • In order to receive Sandhill Society or Family membership early registration access, you must purchase your membership by 5:00 pm on Thursday, February 28th. Any member registrations received after this time will be ineligible for early registration. Thank you for your understanding!
